Forgiveness

She was walking home...her brother with her
It was night, darkness had fallen on them
And in the darkness a gang was waiting
For the brother and sister, just to come their way
And when they did indeed...the attack was swift
And the consequence severe...her brother fell
Never to rise again...killed before her eyes
Night duty in the hospital
She was attending to her patients
When she saw one very ill
Hovering on the brink of life
Then with a shock she recognized
The one who'd killed her brother
Now fighting for his very own life
Given over into her power
Dark thoughts ran havoc in her mind
Just the slightest neglect...so sweet...so easy
But she shook off the thoughts of easy revenge
And fought to save this man's precious life
She won the fight and saw him get well
Then she told him who she was
His eyes cried out...his mouth spoke aloud
Why did you save me...why make me whole?
Her answer simple and from her heart
My own Master forgave his enemies
The ones that nailed him to the cross
Can I do less...and still follow him?
The man looked at her with tears in his eyes
If that is what your Master is like
Then I will be his follower too
Please lead me...to your Master
