He was a man of mystery
Wearing a grey cloak
No one knew where he came from
No one knew where he was going
And he just left it be
In the realms of secrecy
Wherever he appeared
Things were bound to happen
Excitement and danger followed in his footsteps
That is why no one really wanted him to come
No one really wanted him near
Except for his fireworks at their feasts
But his knowledge went beyond
What everybody else knew
He knew there was so much more
Knew about the deeper mysteries
He led the Fellowship
Until in Moria he fell with the Balrog
But that was not his end
It was his new beginning
Gandalf the White had come
His cloak shining like the sun
He was a man of mystery indeed
But what he knew...what he saw
Saved many in Middle Earth
From the darkness of Mordor
And in the end, it was his knowledge
His knowing about the small people
That made one of these
A ring bearer and his companion
Go into the Necromancer's lair
And destroy the One ring to rule all rings
