Ding Dong, the Chemo is gone

And the lump is now somewhat small

So a happier Newer Year to me

And from Eff and me to you all.

I don't do poetry, but thought I would try.

 

Susannah was with us for Christmas and she looked and behaved beautifully.  What a change. Prayers do get answered. .

Thanks Insert. It was all a big surprise to me.  The head nurse was injected the chemo into my arm and said, "This is your last day."  "Oh No, it isn't"  "We always stop at 24 weeks"  "Not what the doctor said""

"I'll check with him" So he agreed, and I am officially done. Just need to have the scan, which hopefully will be negative, and then in Feb have my breast cancer operated on

That's wonderful news Jean, and especially nice written in such a poetic way. It's been a long journey for you this year, but now finally with the chemo over you can start thinking about nicer days ahead.

I don't write poetry but had another go at this one. Still pretty awkward.  I'm excited to be able to get back to my bridge groups and scrabble sessions.

Yes, I am OK. But having the mastectomy in a few weeks time. I will probably have something to write when that happens. I got a clear bill from the scan after the chemo except a leision on my spleen which they don't think is a metastasis. I have been writing bits of my book about the Straw Bonnet but not good enough to share yet.  I hope all is well with you.

I will get back to ABC when I have something interesting to write about. I keep expecting a letter with the date for my surgery, but haven't had it yet, so I expect it has been delayed. It doesn't really matter when it is, but it would be nice to have notice so I can make plans with my daughters.  My son is moving in with his girlfriend who lives in Rugby in late March, so it would be nice if the surgery was over before that.

Thanks for your news. Things looking good after your chemo. Another hurdle with your mastectomy but hopefully all will go well. Your attitude to these things has been very positive. Do keep us informed.

I will write again, but I need to have something interesting to write about. I hope my mastectormy is that. I'm not at all nervous about it, and have been told I can go home on the same day.  My daughter will come and spend a few days with me.
