My Man

My man is so clever
I'm ever so proud.
I n'er miss a chance
To praise him out loud.
If he frowns when I cook
I'm sure I'd agree
That things taste much better
When he makes the tea.
The house is so messy?
Oh dear me, that's true.
The place is a palace
When tidied by you.
I know I'm not good
At finding the street
Or parking in tight places
So you do it, Sweet.
You're ever so clever,
This bill's got me beat.
My poor silly brain
Can't make the ends meet.
You're awfully strong
So you mow the lawn
And trim all the hedges.
I value your brawn.
I'm sorry the collar
Of your shirt comes apart.
Perhaps if you iron it
You'll look very smart.
You say you've got arm pain
You feel a bit queer.
I'm sure if you keep up
you'll be all right, Dear.
I'm lucky to have you
A smart man like you.
But now I need focus
I've some writing to do.

This made me laugh right out, Jean. I can so relate to this, I thought I had written it in my sleep! A lovely piece to read first thing and brighten up the day!

Not so silly, Jean. Brilliant
Not so silly, Jean. Brilliant poem and funny. I did worry, though, when she wasn't concerned about him possibly having a heart attack, but then she did have something to be to be getting on with, and perhaps it was only a 'man flue' type ailment.
Clever poem, Jean.

Enjoyed this Jean, and made me smile.
Saying 'you do it so much better than me' is sometimes a good way out of jobs.

Sarcastic or Genuine?
Love the way I was kept pondering between the two :-) Cute with the created rhyming which swings me towards the sarcasm ;-) Nice work $

Quite fun, Jean. I never notice cobwebs, I'm not tall enough to be bothered by them, especially when I'm thinking of a verse! Good to be able to share jobs! Rhiannon

I'm sure, Jean. I was insensitive as this was written of before. My husband is very practical, unlike me and can easily get on with things I've forgotten, and I try now not to think he's telling me off for not doing those things, he just so easily slips them in! And I must appreciate that while I have it. Rhiannon

Blessings for the day & year ahead Jean
Trusting that the heartsore-ness of missing Your Man is more bare-able these days, and that you know how blessed you are to have had such incredible times in your life :-)
