Winter Is Coming (IP)

Temperature drops and leaves fall down

Jack Frost has spread his white around

Icy windows and chilly nights

Children longing for snowball fights.

Halloween is over and the pumpkins are gone

Dark nights replace where the sun once shone

It's that time of year when everyone gets sick

People start dreaming of old Saint Nick

Pine trees covered in lights sparkle and shine

Some enjoy holidays and family time

Warm soups and hot drinks fill the menu

Time to let loose at party venues

Woolly hats,  duffle coats and cosy gloves

Christmas carols and songs about turtle doves

Turkey for dinner and brussell sprouts they fear

Time to celebrate and embrace the New Year

Winter is coming but it isn't going to last

Soon we will get through the cold icy blast
