Dream vocation, you can hear it calling,

You vow to yourself.. Provide advocay and protection.

Dusting pen and paper off the shelf, building trust,

Anticiapte connection,

I underestimated that every word is clung to-

Even when you are a first year, uniform shiny and new.

There is no place for an off day, and no rest, I have to give my best.

Seniors, mentors, midwives - they can build you up or tear you down.

Give the power to the patients, the people, women......

Power to the women!

I hate having to say 'please put on this hospital gown.'

Women are brave, magic, fierce

I have seen them transform.... lionesses,

birth can look so effortless.

You're a force of nature, powerful, primal, strong.

I try to remember that i am human,

as another shift ends, emotionally spent.

Mind buzzing, I absorb the events.

To women everywhere, I feel honoured and in awe-

I hope I helped just a little bit,

And I hope to help much more.
