As webbed feet
find the perfect moment
to fold wings and swim;

so, you present an image,
pensive,
as cartouche of a soul.

Sing, where tip and paint
caress
surface tension of mind's
vellum,
stretched transluscent
by dream and regret.

Trace remnants of memory
at day break.
