30th September 2016

Six years have passed since I’ve dared to write a piece, but
this is all I’ve got and all I can really say is times have most definitely
changed.

You see that’s the funny thing about time, I tend to brand
it as the silent killer, it’s something everyone knows about, always thinking
about but never really talks about.

It’s a killer because it gives so much but takes back plenty, always giving you that taste of a better life that everyone dreams
of only to snatch the cunt away.

Lives are lived half arsed and people sit in their rocking
chairs with a heart full of regret and mind full of bad memories.

Family who I thought were unbreakable now lie shattered in a
million pieces on the ground, or indeed 6 feet under it.

Lovers are a thing of the past nowadays everyone too scared
to actually talk to one another and when they do the only thing that is said is
“Netfilx and chill?”

Friendships are forgotten and full of false promise but with
the best intentions, people who were once so close are now so far away.

Lives are now lost

Family are now enemies

Lovers are now haters

Friends are now strangers

So yeah times have most definitely changed…

Hey everyone, I hope you enjoy this, please do go easy on me as its been a while since ive wrote anything and it was quite diffcult to write this as it holds a lot of memories, if you have any suggestions on how to improve on this then let me know.

Sadly, Lennie - times don't always change for the better (and I speak from personal experience) but it's always good to write about life events - it can be quite cathartic.

I like your piece - only constructive criticism would be to keep reading through and edit out the unnecessary - sometimes less is more.

I love the last five short lines, which beautifully summarise what you have said earlier.

Look forward to reading more of your work - and I mean that.

Thank you for your comment I very much appreciate it! You are right in what you say that times don't always change for the better I guess sometimes we are all just along for the ride both good and bad! 

Thank you for the advice I shall be sure to continue to read through it and edit bits that I feel can be more refined I do agree less is most definitely more sometimes.

Thank you again you're too kind! I look forward to reading some of your work too I think I'm ready to perhaps start writing a bit more now.

Hi Lennie,

some of what you say I can identify with, but I suppose like Bob Dylan said; The Times They Are A Changing. We just have to move on and make new plans. Hopefully you have your memories and I'd love to hear about them.

Hey Jenny,

Thank you for your kind comment I think I am ready to get back into writing again now so I will definitely be writing about my memories because in the end that's all any of us have, I like the Bob Dylan quote and I do try to live by that as much as possible, just seemed like today was a day of reflection for me.
