Fantasies Abound

My fantasies abound
And keep me alive.
I feed off them like nectarines
Slowly peeling the zest
To unveil the juicy goodness beneath.
Sadly, one nectarine lasts a minute.
But I can describe its
Taste,
Texture and
Smell
In words.
Words lovingly scribbled on
Tatty bits of paper.
I share my imagination with people
Segments of the nectarine
Given away to strangers
And they enjoy the juicy goodness
At least, I hope.
I hope they won't find it sour
And spit out the pulp.
My dreams,
My fantasies,
Dissolved.
And I,
Remain to face the world.
Alone.
