KERRIDWEN STIRS HER CAULDRON
The Green Man exposes himself
but nobody notices
whilst Kerridwen stirs her cauldron
in the deep thrum of the cuckoo vibrato wood
the ground sun-dappled
sour with sorrel
lazy with squirrels
where lovers walk hand-fasted
bruising dog violets indigo
born-again pagans
worshiping the day and
primroses erupt from elbows
of mossy oak trees
standing alone
brooding on other Springs
ferns on their shoulders
lichen lacing
the deep gouged wounds of
once upon a passion Cupid's hearts
arrows long spent
Farewell my lover
fare thee well
for nothing lasts
