Perhaps an excess of devotion

You’ve been overwhelmed, and greatly,
with tasks and priorities.
So, I’ve thought of something lately.
I think that you’ll be pleased.
Let me be your key-fob,
and supervise your keys.
Let me be your key-fob,
and set your mind at ease.
I won’t be your lint brush.
I’m not a fan of scurf.
I can’t be your shoelace
for some abbreviated term.
When everything is said,
and the day is through,
I just want to be your key-fob
with you.
I’m the exemplar of devotion,
and express it every day.
You’re constantly in motion
and tend to stay that way.
I’ve always been a fan
of the highest grade.
I’m sturdy and I’m shiny
and I’m keen to join the fray.
When everything is said,
and the day is through,
I just want to be your key-fob
with you.
I don’t want to be your poncho.
I’m already all wet.
I won’t be your readers.
We’re not that close just yet.
I won’t be your wallet and
get all up in your biz.
I’ll be no one’s antimacassar.
Whatever the hell that is.
When everything is said,
and the day is through,
I just want to be your key-fob
with you.
Glowing in your presence,
I’d be far from bored.
As you ingress and you egress,
I’d be at the fore.
I’m qualified to manage
that one essential chore.
I’ll be ever at the ready
as you fiddle with a door.
I’m not your common dork,
I’m tried and true.
I want to be your key-fob
with you.
I want to be your key-fob.
I’m not a slovenly slob.
I want to be your key-fob
with you.

That of a key fob is a very noble and thoroughly essential role, whatever the shape of the key fob, one is always relieved to see it. Some of the lines really made me laugh, 'I won't be your readers, we're not that close just yet'.

I don't own a key fob, but I'll certainly think more fondly of it, even though I haven't got one.
