Moon Space [1]

The moon was once part of the earth

so they say,

now it’s lifeless,

separate from its former heartbeat.

Does the earth realise

that when it let the moon go,

it wouldn’t drift off

or collide with another planet

but it would stay tethered

unable to break the pull -

those unsaid words.
