A Final Goodbye

You have to feel sorry

for the poor housefly.

If caught by a spider

it is likely to die.

The evil arachnid

will be the decider

of the Musca’s fate;

it is a big worry

for the dipterous fly

who, awaiting the end,

has said goodbye

to family and friends.

Oh what a web he weaves!
I would query the statement that he never gets anywhere; he has the freedom of my house scurrying from room to room.

Oh, poor fly!  I don't think.  Flies and rats should live together on some other planet. I hate them but I loved your poem.  Very humorous.

  • Quite right, Moya. I share your sentiments and this was a tongue-in-cheek response to your I.P. which has proved very popular.
    I feel that a touch of humour now and then brightens our lives; there is too much doom and gloom in the world.

I'm afraid as much as I love all creatures, the fly is definitely not one of them, just hope I never come back as one in another life. Smile. smiley

Hi Jenny, I know the feeling. Whether human or animal there is always a creature that we like to swat because they interfere and make our life a misery. So far I have been unable to fathom out the reason of this insect's existence on this earth but there must be one. Answers on a postcard, please.
