I'm told that granddad
had once placed this ad:
“Man would like to meet
girl, loving and sweet.”
He was mighty surprised
when grandma replied.

I love the simplcity of this - newspaper ads were probably their type of internet dating-

this is an adorable story- and the picture added perfectly to the good feeling reading this gave me. Thanks for sharing it. smiley

You are welcome,JoAnne. It is one of those experimental pieces that I write from time to time. Here I was trying to use the least number of lines to tell an anecdote in verse.

Hi Rhiannon. I am quite surprised by the favourable feedback as this was an old scribble of mine (circa 2010). I came across it the other day while looking through an archive of my past work, some of which has appeared on ABC. I thought that it was a 'cute' little ditty that deserved another showing.
