Perfectly poised, poets perform

Often old-fashioned outstanding odes

Ever expressing elemental emotions,

Tragedies, torments, terminal traumas,

Rather romantically remembering rough

Yawning, yo-yoing,  yet  yearning youth.

There's so much truth in this poem Luigi, every poet likes to express their feelings and I could certainly relate to that last line about yearning youth...though I'm not sure I'd want to be young now.

I'm perfectly poised to say I enjoyed reading your words.

Cheers Jenny. It is certainly true that writers express their feelings through their work but not always have these been experienced by the author himself/herself. I am often asked if my poems are autobiographical and, although they might have been inspired by true, or partly true events, in most cases they are not.
Although my youth is a distant memory, I quite enjoyed mine and it would be an interesting experiment to re-live it.
