Typical of the male species!
Today is World Lion Day.
They have left a bit too late,
people are inclined to say.

The lionesses had their day
one week and a half ago.
They did it in great style
and had a reason to crow.

The fans have got to hope
the men's team will show
an equally impressive display
and bask in the afterglow.

To give you an idea, a big male lion can get near 500kg imagine a domestic cat as large as a pony or a donkey even a horse?

A tame domestic cat is less than 1/2 kg and you know how strong that is especially a wild one so that means a lion is literally a thousand times bigger. These animals are not your buddies they are immensely strong ferocious wild animals they tell me a lion is really so terrible brave not the king of the beasts for nothing and if surprised would attack not run away.

It has happened that someone falls into the lion enclosure at the zoo and are torn to pieces in seconds. These canned lions are especially dangerous they have no fear for humans. This is a terrible thing and people make a lot of money. Trophy hunters from overseas hold the rifle against the lion's head in his cage and pull the trigger. Execution style. Great african safari big game hunter photos and grand trophy. Obscenely rich businessmen. Name your price.

I didn't know it was World Lion Day it's hard to keep up! Sometimes it feels like commercial overkill all these world days I mean every day is world day one day is like any other. They just make it up all this. Honestly.

I am much obliged for your comprehensive information, Tom. World Lion Day, apart from being a celebration of the magnificent beats, is to highlight their decline due to the cruelty of trophy-hunting humans as well as habitat loss and climate change and it's meant to be an appeal for the preservation of these big cats.
