around Fryers Roses pond—the carp
that went its away

the autistic fellow
is smiling like the Cheshire cat
that got the cream—again
…………………….
the carpenter attends
he arrives without any wood
thick as two short planks
…………………….
crushed in autumns
closing window frame—the ladybirds
blood—sunset orange
…………………….
it’s 3 a.m. in the morning
milkman delivers—owl—hoots
mice in no-man’s-land
…………………….
the young electrician
sorts out the house alarm problem
with his sticky back tape
…………………….
a cat catapults’
in through steel milk parlour doors
out shrift goes the tan collie
…………………….
the bulldozer hummed
in the middle of an old church—
walled hands do pray
…………………….
busy mothers block the isle
talk about price of butter
course then the “F” word slips out
