Metal Memories

Music played in your caravan
It wasn’t the Brotherhood of Man
The kerranging guitars from Judas Priest,
Screaming rock music unleashed from the East.
You always got the new records first,
For loud guitar music, you had a great thirst,
The litany of rock bands you often mentioned,
Kiss, Priest, and Sabbath, they grabbed our attention.
I didn’t always go along with your choices
As I wasn’t fond of singers with high voices
With Styx and Rush,I made the exception,
As their music was excellent beyond question.
Forty odd years later, I heard you passed on,
An old mate told me when walking in town,
You’ll live in my memory for many years yet,
As I still search out the best vinyl to get!
( In memory of an old mate from my youth who recently passed away)
