Training Ground?

Make believe you're superhuman, 

Jump downstairs in wild abandon, 

Fearing nothing's really something, 

Ignorance a different thing.

Jackets used as makeshift wings, 

Hoisted high above young shoulders, 

Balancing acts on garden walls,

Child in flight, foiled by the wind.

Under weight of expectation, 

Buckling under, buckling down, 

Heights attained and depths dived into, 

Lives mapped out by school success.
