He Caught My Eye.

He caught my eye……
This week I was walking on the outskirts of the town, when suddenly in front of me, was a man and a little boy. There were a few other people around too, but these two caught my attention.
As I looked at them from behind, something didn’t seem right. The little boy who looked about three years old was on his left, and the man was walking quite fast. He was holding the little boy by his wrist, instead of his hand.
I thought two things as I was walking behind them, either he is not happy to be with the child, or he has been told to, “Make sure you don’t let go of him.”
I felt like the man was annoyed! And I felt sorry for the little boy. For the man was walking SO fast the little chap was almost stomping his tiny little feet. ☹
Eventually I caught up with them, and I was next to them, the little lad looked up to me with a sad face, it was then I could see he is a down syndrome child. I gave him the biggest smile, but he didn’t smile back,
The man, then walked into the quiet road for about ten seconds, without looking out for any traffic, I thought of the little boy’s precious life, and the man who seemed indifferent. It made me sad, and I wished the little one, a happy long life x

me too. a long and happy life
me too. a long and happy life. The man sounds in pain too. He doesn't want to be a father. And certainly not father to a Down's syndrome child. sadness squared.
