Just Outside the Moshpit

People wait for the band to come on
finding a place to stand for their favourite song
some push and shove trying to get near
stood in the moshpit with nothing to fear
some people stand watching from afar
only just able to hear the words and guitar
and while I am being pushed and shoved
these people are being held and loved
although they like to see the singer sing
that is all a secondary thing
but I am stood in front of the lovers
and I am stood behind all the shovers
I'm standing just outside the moshpit
with no confidence to go forward
and no-one to stay back with
I'm the only one who doesn't fit in
I can't enjoy the singer sing
Because I want all those other things.
