Come Home To Dublin
By Paul McCann
Will you ever stop and listen to me ,
come home to Dublin
or I’ll tell Dublin to come home to you.
Because with all of the hope
in every Dubliners heart
you’ll know the love of Dublin we have is true
So where ever you are living
in any place here on Earth .
won’t you make time and just give us a call
Let me hear the joy you have in your voice
Or you can even share with me
all of your troubles and all .
We’re always here , we never change
Its still the same old story
with same old faces that shine each day
Come home anytime ,
you know there’s a welcome here .
because you know in Dublin
your heart will always stay ,

Dublin's a much different
Dublin's a much different place now to how it was when I was first there more than fifty years ago, but it's still the most welcoming city on Earth. There's always people there wanting to have a good old chat with you, to share your joys and sorrows. Your poem is bang on the nail.
I tend not to stay long now as I'm always in a rush to get off to Mayo. Louisburgh and Wesport will always have a special place in my heart.

In Áth Cliath's fair city.
I wrote a short piece about a bit of Dublin myself three or four months ago.
It's called Patrick Kavanagh and Me. I think it was round about November that I posted it on ABC if you're interested.

I thought this a love poem to
I thought this a love poem to Dublin. For my sins I've never visited that lovely city but it always sits in my imagination beckoning me.

Also Irish blood
Also Irish blood here. And with our massive emmegration from SA some say the Afrikaner is the new Jewish, scatterlings of Africa. But keeping our customs and traditions alive.
I prefer to stay, all considered I think it's better here than overseas.
