Cry Of The Workers
By Paul McCann
He walked tall among other men
and thought he was better than them .
It was his job to hire and fire
but never knew how to inspire
the workers to be creative .
I respected the life he lived
but there were things he couldn’t give
and things he wouldn’t put up with .
No accolades or compliments ,
or understanding sentiments .
Just do your job and say
no more or else you’ll be
sent out the door .
He lost their respect in the end
and on no one he could depend .
Such a shame he lost dignity
between here and the big city .
Pity for the workers who cried
and all their rights that were
denied .
More than a pound of flesh he got
from men who he sacked on the spot .
.
