Mr Murphy fries potatoes until they’re crispy brown

he owns the greasy chippy in the centre of the town .

Theres always a queue at Murphy’s about an hour long

For things in life that mean a lot , you’ve got to wait upon .

The jukebox plays as Murphy sings inside his chippy shop

Hippy hippy , fish and chippy

Make Murphy’s your chip stop .

Well it takes a strong man’s courage to stand there in a queue

With hunger pains inside him boys ,

Its all that he can do .
