The Garden Fairies No One Could See
.By Paul McCann
Strange looking plants grew around her garden
She never knew where they came from it was a mystery to her .
She thought maybe the birds had brought seeds from some place
and accidently dropped them around her garden everywhere
Then early one morning she saw what was going on .
A few fairies were working the garden out there .
At first she thought her mind was gone
Then she thought she was still asleep
But no there they were in the early dawn
Little fairies with little spades planting flowers and trees
and digging holes in places all over her lawn .
So she ran next door to tell her neighbour who came to have a look
but all that was there were little statues of fairies with wings
and lots of wind chimes that hung on tree branches
and some garden gnomes with little green shoes .
There were other ornaments of birds and frogs that sat on logs
beside a green house full of strange looking plants .
The neighbour wished her a nice day but as soon as she was gone
the fairy statues came to life and they danced around the lawn
and other fairies came and they had a picnic there
in the garden where no one could see .
The lady of the house remarked
How strange it is that the garden fairies want no one to see them but me.

Strangely enough, I have pots
Strangely enough, I have pots of fairy villages in my garden, made up of dolls house furniture and many tiny items I picked up at charity shops, also those statues you mention.
I haven't needed to sow any seeds as it's a real wilderness of shrubs, grass and trees. Also wild flowers that appear each year, probably brought in by the birds, or where the squirrels bury their nuts and dig holes everywhere.
So I found yet another of your fairy poems so fascinating. Like you just love to let my imagination run wild.
Thank you again for another imaginative poem.
Jenny.
