Lots Of Feathered Friends
By Paul McCann
,
Cockatoo one talked
Cockatoo two squawked .
Cockatoo one flew .
Kookaburras came .
Kookaburras sat .
Kookaburras two .
There’s one , two and three
galahs on a tree
pink faced and silly .
.
See the four Emu’s .
Under the gum tree..
Running round crazy .
One , two , three,. four, five
whip birds in the sun
whistling through the scrub . .
The six magpies sat
on an old tin roof ,
of an a outback pub.
Seven cockatiels
hiding from the sun
on a summers day .
Eight willie wagtails
running here and there
they’ve all lost their way .
Nine noisy miners
kicking up a storm
looking for a nest
Ten tiny finches
flirting on a branch
they’ve no where to rest .
.

I can see this as a picture
I can see this as a picture book for young children. I think each stanza with a picture to illustrate your words going from 1 to 10 would be beautiful too. If I may ask ,on the last line, did you mean to say, "They've no where to rest?". Enjoyed the flow annd imagry of this poem very much.
