A Lucky Father

My children I’ve not forgot ,

some are mine and some are not .

Some of them have passed away ,

some are here for Father’s day .

Tell me who can really say ,

have a happy Father’s day ,

only those who respect you 

with a love that’s really true .

There are some no longer there 

and for those we say a prayer 

so they know that we still care ,

in thoughts and prayers that we share .

The bonds of love are so strong 

that they can reach far beyond 

and reconnect once again 

the children that have his name .

Step Fathers are lucky men 

to have the love of children 

with came from another kin 

but love the one that stepped in .

I love all of my children

and I always think of them

if they’re here or far away ,

I’ve a happy father’s day .
