Mr Papple And The Peoples Army
By Paul McCann
After the shops closed and everyone had gone home , the streets of Parramatta became deserted and quiet apart from the street sweepers and cleaners who emerged to clear up the garbage left lying in the trash bins and on the sidewalks .
Then as the fast twilight arrived the city took on a different appearance as people arrived to have dinner in restaurants and night revellers made their way to the pubs and clubs around Parramatta .
About this time every night Mr Papple arrived in his van to spend the night in the basement of an underground car park where he felt safe and awsy from the eye of those who meant harm .
The timing was always very important as Mr Papple knew when the security would check for any unknown cars . Then with the all clear the roller doors of the underground car park were closed until the morning .
Mr Papple then had the place to himself . He showered with the cold water from the fire hydrant hose and had some food he had managed to get during the day . Afterwards he lay down for a sleep . His body was sore from the years he spend in the army . After he had returned from the battlefield he just wanted to be left alone . He had suffered from post traumatic stress and couldn’t fit back into community life .
The memories of military life haunted him night and day . He always felt as if he was still in harms way and his daily nightmare of a war revisited him often .
For too many years now Mr Papple never saw his family or friends and no one knew where he was and that’s how he wanted it to be .
The world had become an awful place now after the new world order was destroyed . Chaos had begun all over the planet . It was like doomsday had come and all over the world common people were under attack .
The siege of the working class had started with a powerful forced known as the SSS taking people out and in control of all the major cities .
Mr Papple was unaware of what was going on as he never had a TV and had lost interest in life so he never bothered to listen to radio .
He assumed life was going along as normal and whatever normal was he never knew ,
As the first wave of the attacks began Mr Papple noticed how citizens were being rounded up and executed . This made him listen to the news reports on the car radio . There were reports of how the super rich were culling the middle class of society and the attacks were going to continue until those in debt were removed from the world .
This shocked Mr Papple and he soon discovered the real truth about what was going on in the world .The super rich were now in control and there was no way to change what had happened and there was no hope left for anyone who had any outstanding debt to the banks and other financial institutions .
The super rich considered these people useless and unnecessary and so began the cull to remove them from their perfect world .
Every credit card that had been issued to members of the general public had a microchip implanted on the card that gave the exact location of that person and how much money was owed , them one by one the SSS swooped down and took them out .
Mr Papple had escaped their tracking devices because he never borrowed any money and had no credit cards so the SSS never knew where he was . He was one of the lucky few who had survived the first culling of the working class by Societies Superior Security forces .’
Mr Papple kept under the radar and so far he had not been detected .
But he knew that he had to survive . Somehow living homeless for many years also kept him out of the eye of the SSS . He had always paid cash for everything he bought . Never in his life had he applied for a loan and so he never had any debt outstanding . That is the reason he was never detected by their tracking devices.
By the time most people could escape the siege of the first attack , the second wave began . This wave focused its eye on all property and home buyers who had taken out loans and were still in debt to the super rich . One by one , the SSS visited their place of residence and took no prisoners . All were killed and their properties reclaimed by the super rich
Mr Papple was so lucky to have his van to get him around . The van was owned by Joe, an old friend of his . Luckily for Mr Papple , Joe befriended Mr Papple and gave him the key to a shed where he worked restoring old cars . The van had been a restoration project for Joe’s son Edward, who would receive the vehicle when he turned 21 , but all that changed after the second wave when Joe and all his family were killed by the SSS .
Mr Papple took the van from the shed and made it his own .
The shed had been overlooked by the SSS due to its location and also because it was on Government land and not listed as a property of interest . Originally Joe uses the land for keeping four horses that he owned and he paid the government a small fee each year for renting that spot for his horses . The horses kept the grass under control as well as keeping away snakes off the land . On that land Joe built a shed , that was really an illegal building but no one knew about that except for himself .
Joe needed a place that provided some shade to get out of the summer sun when he went to tend to his horses as well as a place where he could work on some old cars so the secret shed built . It was also the spot where Mr Papple used to sleep underneath a tree at night . When Joe spotted him one morning he offered the shed as a temporary night shelter and gave him a key to it .
When the third wave came Mr Papple moved into city . He had a survival plan . First he needed to make contact with some of the old regiment that served with him in the war . He had a list of names and phone numbers and started to call them up . He was able to talk to most of them . They were all finding it difficult to re-enter community life Many were in motor cycle gangs or homeless .
When Mr Papple shared his idea about putting together a unit to strike back at the SSS ,.they all were eager to get started .
To his amazement everyone he spoke with also lived debt free . This was going to be a great asset for the entire outfit .
He called a meeting at the car park and passed on the address and time to arrive .
The meeting took place and a strong number of ex-army came , The camaraderie was still there . Mr Papple shared his plan to strike back at those who were involved with all the killing .
It was time to get a little back from the super rich and put an end to their SSS killing machine . All of the returned soldiers were glad to be back doing what they did best as an armed unit . They called themselves the Peoples Army and were able to access weapons from various Army barracks and now they were back in action as an elite regiment of troops with a mission .
They made their barracks the car park and began hitting banks and breaking into other financial institutions . Now every one of the Peoples Army were very wealthy and the super rich had no idea how to stop this attack on their perfect world . A large number of SSS had been taken out and slowly but surely their day had come .
The peoples army had all managed to get back a fortune from the greedy oppressors who were unable to detect who was behind this .
A few years had passed and Mr Papple and his men were now living in huge mansions and sat back in their comfortable retirement .
All were debt free and all were accepted by the powers that be . Thye could move around freely and were accepted by the super rich and what was left of their security forces .
Living in this new world , Mr Papple was content in knowing they did what had to be done .
The End
