Only The Brave Can Run
By Paul McCann
Anchored to the wind in a valley in between
a hard old rocky ground and pastures rich and green .
God is on my side in every step I take
so while the door is open I think I’ll make a break .
Only the brave can run, to escape and disappear.
I’m running for my life , there’s nothing for me here .
Locked up like a prisoner
where the buffalo never roam.
I’ve got a wild horse for a friend
so I know I’m not alone.
There’s no way they’re going to catch me ,
I’ll be off and running free ,
before the light of day in a promised land I’ll be .
Only the brave can run ,
like a bullet from gun ,
shot through in a blinding light ,
towards the rising sun .
Running free where only the brave can run .
