The Stars In My Eyes

My heart is a flame and I cannot contain

the passion that burns with rage

to consume every ear that would welcome me here

to sing my songs on stage .

It’s no surprise the stars in my eyes

have me blinded me from unkind remarks .

Running through my head are thoughts that I’ve read

pinging like bright flickering sparks  .

I’ve got stars in my eyes that people despise

just because they cannot see

the vision of grace and dreams that I chase ,

that are always a part of me
