Where Rivers Run

Sheet rain
Fell down again ,
On the other side of the road
Gardens were watered and on houses blocked gutters had overflowed .
The rain never stopped for days and somewhere a river rose and flooded a town that was completely cut off and still the river ran ..
Cars were washed away like toys in the flow that had widened its span .
Meanwhile cars drove fast through our town .
They don't slow down .

Footnote
This Structure is called – The Stepladder Form
It employs syllable count .where the first line of the poem doubles up and the second doubles to a point in the poem where the doubling up stops and then begins dividing in half to the end of the poem .
