A Winter Child
By Paul McCann
As the frost fell down over the gardens ., The smell of wood burning stoves clung to the air . The winter child smiled as he looked out the window , at the new day on display out there . . As the snow fell the wild wind tossed sheets of white over the grass and lay still for a while , Winter inside the little home was quiet , and the child looked out the window and smiled . as his Mother bought some wood inside to warm the house and the summer was far away ‘ Wafting through the air was the smoke of wood burning stoves, that choked the freshness of the day . . |
