If the cost of loving you is getting hurt  , what should I do ,

I must face up to what I know to be true .

You know that I could  walk out the door and say

I don’t care anymore

 I could live alone forever with my heart of stone ..

 

Oh no but for love , sweet love ,

you know that  it  walks and it talks, .

Its like a feeling down deep in your soul

and what’s more ,

love is a word and it's something that I heard  in a song ,

such a long long time ago .

For all that we know , in love ,

and all that we do . in love

it will keep coming back to me and you  ,

in the echoes of that song long ago .

There we go and all that we do in love

comes back to me and you

in a word my darling  , I love you .

 

Yes I do , in a word we share

its in a song that I heard 

and its saying my darling , I love you . Yes I do.

 

All the love that we shared in our hearts and in our words

they’re more than some flowers in a vase .

So fantastic is the love that we have’

and the love that we have given

and the love that is ours

in a language of our own .

 

It’s everywhere I go ,

I see in the people that I know

I see it in the love that keeps growing the same ,

You know all that we do it keeps coming back to me and you  ,

in a word my darling  , I love you .Yes I do ,

It’s in the words we share from songs  long ago .

I remember to tell you ,, I love you . 

                   And I’ll say it in a word , my darling I love you      .
