Autumnal ecstasy blends these two:
Lacelorn hands on the diamond wood,
Leaf-writ circles plead for floodlit silence.
Season of decay is the soberest wine of joy.
He can tide the longest winter:
Let the robin sing in tune to his guitar.
The snow-bright ring finger beckons
To his twelve-string fireside vigil.
Song bright eyes wax lyrical in their wicks.
Such a twinking light is Donald.
Herbal springtime is the menageric property
Of these removers.
She is a Dryad of the woodland haunt.
Her head a blaze of beechwood bonfire,
Silhouetted in a summer glade,
Is kept in russet remembrance of apricots.
Her walk amongst nettles is accomplished.
Such a cherished bough is Cathy.
