The Pavement of Goals

The path is so hot
that the skin on the bottom of my feet
sizzle like bacon.
I slowly walk on the distractions,
feeling the fire rocks of reasons that’s hard to reach my life accomplishments.
It’s so unbearable. My eyes are close as I cry out
in agony. All I can see the blind temptation to give up
because I don’t know where I’m going.
Two angels walk with me silently. One on each side, holding my arms to guide
me on the complicated road. On command from God,
they give me cool kisses on the face for inspiration.
As I walk to the accomplished line on the pavement of goals.
Depending on the goal,
the road is in different lengths, but the same.
No one had ever tried this alone. Most will
give up searching for an easier path to walk.
Unfortunately
That path is short and confusing that they have to walk again
On the pavement of goals.
I’ve been walking on my road for six months now.
Before my walk, I was a housekeeper cleaning the complaints
of my corporate clients. An unexpected bankruptcy
from the company broke the glass of communication
and left me to lose all my benefits and most important my self.
I walk because even though the times are hard
it’s necessary for me to leave bloody footprints behind
so when someone else sees my trail
then it too can know that it is possible
to walk to the accomplished line
on the pavement of goals.
