the hypnotist stands on the stage
the audience is rapt
the hypnotized stay in their seats
among the others, trapped.
.
the hypnotist says, "bow your heads"
as he recites some chants
some fail to grasp the message
others fall into his trance
.
the hypnotist says, "sing along"
some will and some will not
for it takes a certain person
for this fervor to be caught
.
the hypnotist says, 'pay me"
and they pass around a tray
some simply look down at their shoes
some give their cash away
.
the hypnotist releases them
into the street, they lurch
but they'll be back next sunday
and they'll march into his church

Hypnotist or hypocrite, or
Hypnotist or hypocrite, or both? 'Pay me' seems to sum it up.
Don't need an eloquent and elegant speaker or a hypnotist, but one who genuinely teaches the Word of God. Rhiannon
