THE JEWEL IN THE ROCK

the rock protects the jewel within
embedded in the rock's thick skin
the jewel won't have to fret about a thing
.
the jewel's on top and looking down
she knows that she creates the crown
that makes the rock feel noble as a king
.
without a jewel, the rock is plain
without a rock, the jewel's in pain
they need each other thrown into their lives
.
the rock provides a solid base
the jewel provides a lovely face
the husbands stand behind their sparkling wives
.
the bay of thunder way up north
is where the amethyst comes forth
the prettiest of jewels, if i am asked
.
inside the rocks, they percolate
till time to open up the gate
and show the world what in that realm had basked
.
some jewels are fashioned in fine threads
or laced in crowns on regal heads
and i admit that can be very fine
.
but this rock holds their jewel close by
and close together, we will lie
the best of rocks and jewels are in the mine
.
i am the rock and daily kissed
is my sweet jewel, the amethyst
and to this perfect jewel, i will hold tight
.
the mine is deep but never dark
for jewels provide a loving spark
that makes a summer day of darkest night

Absolutely super as usual
Absolutely super as usual moonphish. And unlike a lot of poetry this maintains its strengths and qualities right until the finish. Well done.
