There was a man running down the road.
It’s just that nobody does that anymore. Wearing a blue dressing gown brown slippers and a strange hat with flaps to cover his ears he jogged down the centre of the empty street.
I sat and watched from our window high in the tower.
Looking up, Jake was at his window in the tower next to ours. He’d been watching the man. When he saw me he turned and reached for a pad of paper.
He held a piece up to the window, on it was written

I looked down at the man, he’d slowed and was walking now. Complete silence all around. Nobody jogged anymore, nobody went outside any more. You stayed in your tower.
Jake held another piece of paper to the window
