You take the aim
And pull it in
Cross the hairs
Commit the sin
The recoil felt
Is no where near
The splitting crack
Within your ear
And when you look
Straight down the sight
You realise his life has
Turned from day
.......... to night.

A powerfully raw poem -
A powerfully raw poem - quite WW1 in feel but more modern of course - which is definitely an example of 'less is more', in its controlled and consistent use of language and image. It's all the stronger for what it does not mention, that most difficult of words 'guilt', that leaves its mark the stronger by being left unsaid. Well done! More like this!
