Dear Mother...

I want you to know that wherever you are, I am safe.
There are kind people here who want me. I rejoice in the fact that I am wanted in this world.
They love me, as you never loved me.
They care for me, as you never cared for me.
They support me, as you never supported me.
After wandering in the sea for so long, I have finally come ashore. My life has meaning for the first time. I am no longer homeless.
Mother, she wipes my tears when I cry. I smile as I write this. You would've brushed me and my sorrows away. But that is all right, for I knew you had deep troubles of your own. I do not blame you. But nevertheless, it is somehow comforting to have someone wipe your tears for you.
I worry about you every day, mother.
Every day I hope you are all right. I suppose you will be angered further to hear from me, especially after the recent events that have taken place (in regards to which I offer my sincere condolences), but I am your daughter and neither you nr I can change this.
Every day I take long walks with Betty and her husband. Sometimes we inhale the fresh mountain air; at other times we visit the beach and feel the wet sand on our soles. Mother, it is so lovely. These walks are the most beautiful things I have ever experienced. Every day, when we walk, I think about you, because beautiful things remind me of you.
I know you are safe for the remainder of your years in this world. I only hope there is someone to wipe your tears for you.
Much love
Your daughter
Christina
