salt and steel
By Nolan
- 2053 reads
on the wind drifts the foam
gliding home seagulls roam
it's the salt it's the wash
it's the sand it's the rush
full moon ghostly over the chill
mirror calm hush quiet and still
dark mystery strange shadowy
key to me my heart my secrecy
~
singing sirens call from far shores
grey is the cloud misty the stars
songs of longing delight of heavens flown
sailing gliding seas of freedom alone
shrill the steam steel the scream
ratta-tatat ratta-tatat the dream
tickety-tack clickety-clack
it's the whistle it's the track

It's like a beautiful mosaic
It's like a beautiful mosaic of words. Lovely. The stanzas move the reader through something shadowy but elemental. Reminds me of the night view across the Severn Estuary.

Well worth the effort. I
Well worth the effort. I think Monday was hard work, too.
