The birch

The birch hangs mute
against a Magritte morning sky
Empty fractal fronds
diminish
like a resin map of lungs
Breathe
Taste the air
Bear witness
to the winter tones
Listen
to the deafening peace
Hold fast
to the moment
Rich
beyond your dreams

Hi Kevin,
Hi Kevin,
Loved this poem. You,ve got a poetic soul and your use of language is great. I always enjoy reading your work but, tell me. What is the meaningt of the word 'Magritte' only with all this talk about climate change is it something i should be worrying about? The canoe stands ready in the garage in any case.

Hello Kevin,
Hello Kevin,
In answer to your first question, I'm sorrry to tell you I had to have Lincoln put down. He had a torsion and knowing he would have to go through a great deal of pain and at his age, I coudn't put him through it. It broke my heart. But. now. I have Devlin a rejected show dog but he is a very handsome boy with a quiet, gentle, nature but, at two yeas old, he had had no trainng. I've managed to do a lttle bit with him but luckily he is a good dog, very affecttionate and I love him.
In answer to your second question, Yes I'm still writing my bits of nonsense but 2017 was the last show that I coiuld manage. Especially as I havs moved to Bradford to be near my daughters but I do so miss my friends althoughj i visit them when I can.
Well you did ask

I like the message in this :0
I like the message in this, specially the last 2 lines, I try to think this too :0) Good when peace from space is so huge everything else becomes insignificant. The short lines make everything more intense, it hangs in the mind like a misty breath.

With me it's trying to
With me it's trying to forget when I've done something silly :0) You must have been REALLY cold!!! Your sensibility overcame your sense (she says austenatiously)
I'm glad you DID post it, a great pick of the day!

and so you have the record to
and so you have the record to remember the riches of the moment, to grasp it again when not so cold, but feel the peace! Glad you shared, very vivid, could feel the cold, and the quiet space and beauty! Rhiannon
