The dawning
By Parson Thru
- 1104 reads
I watched you for a little while
Heard your jokes
You made me smile
But something you did
made me stop and look
I thought about the things you’ve said
Turned me cold
Wished I was dead
When it dawned
you’re just another crook
You make me question what I'm doing
You send the swallows back to Spain
I think about the words you're slewing
I have to close my eyes again to hide away the pain
And now I’m waiting for my time
Watch the months
fall into line
I’ll leave behind
all the things you took
Barometer is set to Fair
The wind has changed
Sniff the air
Let’s turn the pages
of another book

For me this brings that
For me this brings that moment of awareness when you suddenly feel a fool for thinking well of all that went before, seeing everything in a new light. There's a feeling, too that there will be a certain satisfaction at their shock when the time comes for the narrator to make his move and turn the pages of his new book.
