The leaking ship

My heart breaks
as history repeats itself
and two more children
wander dazed and blinking
into their parents' world
Another mother goes it alone
Another father looks on from a distance
And another deposit account is opened
in the joint names of heartache and insecurity
The sun sets beneath the storm
to rise again on a smouldering dawn
where wind fans the embers
of lingering hurt and unlearned lessons
And the leaking ship rolls along
through old familiar waters.

Parson Thru, I think this is
Parson Thru,
I think this is just lovely. The way you have expressed, if I have understood it correctly, what it means to children when their parents split up.
If I have got it wrong then please forgive I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to poetry but I know when I enjoy something and I enjoyed this.
