"Stop it!" said the divine being. "Stop it, you're blinding me!"
"But I need to shine," said the star. "It's what I do."
"Don't be so selfish," said the divine being. "Do you think the dark matter wants you smothering it day and night?"
"There is no day and night," said the star.
"You know what I mean," said the divine being.
"I don't mean to be pedantic," said the star. "It's just that in Space, it's eternal night... or eternal day..."
"I didn't come here to wax philosophical," said the divine being. "I just want to get some sleep!"
"Hang on a minute," said the star; "you sleep?"
"Of course," said the divine being. "What of it?"
"Oh nothing," said the star. "It's just... you know... being a deity..."
"... is tiring!" said the divine being.
"Okay..." said the star.
"What?" said the divine being.
"Well... you know..." said the star. "What do you do? Exactly?"
"I'm a divine being!" said the divine being.
"Yes but," said the star; "what do you do?"
"You insult me, star," said the divine being. "The word 'Creator' mean anything to you?"
"What do you create?" said the star.
"Stuff!" said the divine being.
"Obviously," said the star. "But you're clearly not The Creator. You know, omnipotent, omnipresent, all that."
"What are you suggesting?" said the divine being.
"Well The Creator created everything," said the star. "So what does that leave for you?"
"Everything else," said the divine being.
"Everything else..." said the star. "Everything except everything..."
"Okay, ice cream!" said the divine being.
"Ice cream?" said the star.
"Ice cream," said the divine being.
"And that's why you're so tired?" said the star.
"That and your incessant twinkling!" said the divine being.
"I don't twinkle, I shine," said the star.
"Whatever," said the divine being.
"Deities don't say 'whatever'," said the star.
The divine being winked out of existence.
