In a moment

Just when I thought that
life had been kind.
A crushing blow
and all is left behind

It’s strange to think
that smugness is cruel.
The comforts all gone
and made to look a fool.

Disaster can strike
For no apparent reason.
A mere statistic,
a one in a million

What will he do
as the years go by?
Will he struggle through life
when his limit was the sky?
