Seventy years hence

Child life had a difference.

With no mobile, no computer

no ice cream no burger

no face book, no cartoon picture

verbal tales were only longed for.

With no gun no atom bomb, no nuclear

no rocket, no electronic gadgets thought ever

each story had many morals to teach

to the hearts of children they did reach.

Hey children! Here is a tale for you

Fictitious may be characters but gist is very true.

An example of our childhood stories

laugh you may but understand the morals it carries

In a forest on a grazing ground

a tortoise and a rabbit daily were found

Established they a smiling relationship

It was superficial not intimate and deep

Rabbit was lazy but clever

Tortoise was sincere but fool of first order

As the rabbit was sure faster to slow tortoise, it can run

with ulterior motive the rabbit instigated the tortoise to go for the fun,

it proposed and the tortoise agreed for a running competition

to run across two forests to reach a banyan tree as destination.

The stake was that winner would ride on the losers back at its whim and pleasure

the loser would have to feed the winner daily for three years on this failure.

On a sunny day they started to run

Tortoise was far behind, saw the rabbit after an hour has gone

Being sure of winning and to taste the dream of the winning pleasure

The rabit felt complacent and under a shady tree it fell in sound slumber.

It slept on for many hours may be with dreams but with comfort

The tortoise won the race, first reaching the destination post

The morals of the story to all are very clear

Teaching us not to repeat in life the rabbit’s blunder

Children! You try to grasp the teaching behind such stories

for winning many battles in life and attaining heights of glories.

While enjoying such stories the under lying morals you must practice

to prosper in life with successes and victories in many a crisis.
