On current primary education

this naïve has an observation.

At least what happens around me

daily here in India as I pain to see

school boys aged around ten or so

bending from waist walking slow

carrying overloaded bags on their shoulder

with book water tiffin as per their teacher.

Their parents bank on them with dreams

to assimilate all in curriculum in their teens

to excel over Einstein and Shakespeare

float then they will with their family in laurels galore.

The curriculum is becoming stiff and turning stiffer,

Schools compete to see the students devour and deliver

But a rose if opened from its bud with force

never flowers, never scents withers of course.

Similar to flowering of the bud is unfolding of mind

delicate, fragile needing nature’s car from behind

Environment, warmth, love and exemplary practice

can only marvel with miracle the young and novice.

Child psychologists, and rulers those who matter

ensure they must so that the boy at his prime does not wither.
