Boon regretted
P K Routray
A Hindu monk meditated
and succeeded in meeting God
asked for a boon
that he wants
every living being on the earth to go to Heaven.
The God granted the boon
but gave a condition
that the being has to agree
and come with his will of own.
The saint offered the boon to many,
Each one of them
rejected the offer with clear tone.
Their reasons were many,
They love their world.
How can they leave
their loved ones
in this worldly ocean alone?
They have many things to be done.
Finally the saint searched
for an unwanted old man of ripe age.
He got a person,
fore shaken by men of his own
neglected even for food and accommodation,
none gave him any attention
his death was drawing nigh, a fact very certain.
To the offer of the saint
he declined forth with
as he is guarding his properly
and loves his loved ones
immaterial whether they love , him or do not love,
he was waiting for a child of his great grandson.
Out of frustration the saint offered the boon to a pig,
describing the quality of nectar available in Heaven,
but the pig rejected the offer
when to its question as to the availability of its lovable foods of feces
the answer was in negation.
