Celebrating A Golden Jubilee
P K Routray
Age but not the grace
time but not the smile on the face
youth but not the intellect
have withered paying Mr. and Madam Mishra the due respect.
Conjugal life of half a century
with peace, pleasure and cherished memory
harmony and mutual respect exemplary
we all pray the bondage to continue to complete one full century.
A soul searching, heartwarming, welcome smile from both of you
at first sight get etched in the hearts of one and all forcing them, your love and affection to cherish and woo.
Mr. Mishra a brilliant student of his era
topper and best graduate with academic achievements plethora
meekly submitted to poverty and family need
changed and shaped his career without selfish greed.
Sir I have seen tears in your eyes and ache in heart
when you went back to your young days of achievement over a chat.
Yes you could have achieved a lot for greater society
but the destiny had a say and we find blessing in His cruelty.
You built many a plants for upliftment of your mother land and for the poor and needy,
I had seen all engineers working under you eulogizing your acumen publicly and freely.
I have seen sir your worst condition of life
saw you tolerating ,seeing it as Divine blessing in your strife.
I remember Madam in a frenzied condition running to her Master, her to console
got the divine light and path to ultimately merge herself with super soul.
Proud parents of brilliant girls honoring father’s unfulfilled desire
continuing, competing and excelling over the bests of the world marching higher and higher.
A made for each other as if created by His own divine hand,
a surprise match arranged as those days you both could have never planned.
Both of you should come out with your success story
spanning over fifty years of married life’s glory.
Many a thorn must have come on your path
how did you embrace them, turn them to roses in joy and mirth?
This will be a best seller in the present day society
even we from olden era will cherish and will compare our life with envy and pity.
Madam Mishra, please reveal your traits and tricks
being far younger, your whims and fancy on him how could you fix?
and being forced out of college under parental compulsion,
how could you walk so far shoulder to shoulder with a man, best in education?
A youth from a remote village could be truly faithful to Odissa’s tradition,
well exhibited by Mr Mishra who must have avoided multicity and multi country girls’ temptation.
Let God bless you both with healthy, blissful and long life
we wish your platinum jubilee of conjugal symphony with pleasure and prosperity in plenty and rife.
The positive aura around you has a divine feeling.
to avail it forever we pray the Almighty on you His choicest blessing.
